Paul Hoppe

"always" liked comics and started drawing them himself at one time or another. But first he studied Graphic Design in Pforzheim, Germany, and earned his spurs in that field. After buzzing off to New York and completing his MFA at the School of Visual Arts, he now works full-time as a freelance illustrator and graphic artist.

Paul has drawn, among others, for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, KiKa, Adidas and IBM.

In 2004, his first graphic novel "Die Schlange" was published by Zwerchfell and managed to grab a honorable mention from the ICOM. He illustrated the children's book "Metal Man" for the American publisher Charlesbridge, and in 2009, his first own children's book HAT was published by Bloomsbury USA.
